Hey y’all my name is Larissa and I’m from Boca Raton, Florida. I was actually born in New Jersey, but I moved to SoFla when I was still a baby. So I classify myself as a Florida native. Even though I was raised in SoFla, I can honestly say my heart is in Nashville. I intend on moving there once I graduate college. I visited in HS and I’ve been in love ever since!

Any who, I love talking (maybe a little too much) but be warned, I may sound a tad awkward at first, but just go with it. It gets better I swear! Also I am a die-hard Seminole! I’m going to be a Junior at THE Florida State University, emphasis on ‘THE.’ It wasn’t where I had first planned to go, but God definitely showed his purpose in that. I love attending the football games, you’ll see me do the tomahawk chop about 56 times and, on a good day, I do sing the fight song, so get excited. I’m also part of CRU on my campus, and next year I’ll be stepping up in my leadership there by joining the Prayer Team.

The Lord has is constantly working in my life he’s surrounded me with people I never though I’d relate and just shown himself through them. Even though I accepted Christ about 3yrs ago it wasn’t until last year that I started leading a Christ-like life. I’ve been truly blessed with some amazing friends, they are the few people in this world that not only tolerate my ridiculous behavior, but enable it as well. And through my journey God has placed some wonderfully insane, Jesus-loving people in my life and I am so thankful for that.

I also have a pretty entertaining family. Both my parents are from Brazil, so I obviously know how to speak Portuguese. I am 97% certain that my dad has never matured past the age of 15, which leads to a lot of entertaining situations. My mom is such an awesome reflection of Christ’s love, she’s definitely had to deal with a lot and she’s never faltered both in her faith and her love towards me.

I don’t know if any of y’all went, but in January I attended the Passion conference in Atlanta. A) it was amazing, if you haven’t been I definitely recommend it, B) it was there that God just reaffirmed my desire to go serve, and basically that’s why I’m here.
